Her Story

A Neighbor First

Nearly forty years on the same block, doing the same thing: showing up for my neighbors.

I grew up on Syracuse’s North Side. In 1987, my husband Matt and I moved to Park Avenue, and it’s where we raised our three daughters. I never planned on politics. I just wanted our street to be somewhere my kids and everyone else’s could be proud to call home.

Her Work

From the Ground Up

When we moved to Park Avenue, the neighborhood was struggling. So we got to work. I helped found the Park Avenue Neighborhood Association, and for the next two decades we organized block by block: the Earth Day cleanup, the Mid-Summer Festival, Victorian Christmas in Leavenworth Park, the OHA Ghost Walks.

What started as a few of us with an idea are traditions the whole community shows up for now.

Still Here

Still on Park Avenue

Matt and I raised our three daughters in the same neighborhood I’ve spent decades building up, and we still live there today. I’m not new to this block, and I’m not going anywhere after November.

Showing up for my neighbors isn’t a campaign promise to me. It’s just what Tuesday looks like.
